Maplewood, Missouri Firefighter, Ryan Hummert, 22, was killed by sniper fire July 21st 2008 when he stepped off his fire truck responding to a call. He is survived by his parents Andrew and Jackie Hummert.

We are having a Tribute WOD this Friday for a fallen friend Shawn Bourke. We will be attempting a special Workout in his honor. Our condolences goes out to Shawn’s family and all who knew him. Cookout starts at 4:30pm and runs til we close.
Derby City CrossFit is friends with the Joey Carter Foundation. The Joey Carter Foundation is hosting a scramble on August 22nd to raise money for Scholarships to help local kids, “Get a Leg Up” in their education. Oakland SWAT Sergeant Daniel Sakai, age 35, was killed on March 21, 2009 in the line of duty along with fellow officers Sergeant Ervin Romans, Sergeant Mark Dunakin, and Officer John Hege. Daniel is survived by wife Jenni and daughter Jojiye.

What is DCCF? The essence of CrossFit is a view that fitness is about performing well at any and every task imaginable.
