What is DCCF? The essence of CrossFit is a view that fitness is about performing well at any and every task imaginable. Picture a hopper loaded with an infinite number of physical challenges and being asked to perform random feats drawn from the hopper. The implication here is that fitness requires an ability to perform well at all tasks, even unfamiliar tasks, tasks combined in infinitely varying combinations.
Workouts involve the use of kettlebells, bodyweight drills, Olympic weight training, and cardiovascular conditioning. Unlike other gyms, A COACH IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE to assist and direct you to ensure safe and proper technique and help achieve long-term success. Furthermore, this coach is included as part of your monthly membership. As a member of Derby City CrossFit, not only will you get coaching every day you’re at the gym, you will also have access to a massage therapist, Pilates classes, and nutritional advice.
CrossFit is focused on improving performance in the 10 recognized general physical skills of fitness:
• Cardiovascular Endurance
• Speed
• Muscular Strength
• Muscular Power
• Agility
• Balance
• Coordination
• Accuracy
• Flexibility
• Stamina
We’re conveniently located in the heart of downtown Louisville, inside the Sign-A-Rama building on E. Market St. Give it a try, Louisville! You’ll never want to try another gym!

dear morning shift,
sorry I missed you all. I got off work at 645 and I was very excited to come down and see what the hell it is you all actually do in the morning that makes you so fiery throughout the day……….but I was disappointed. I had just missed you. until next time.
Had an awesome work out today! I did the WOD, the dips AND the endurance part for the first time today. So, my form needs a little work, but I’ll get there. And I fell on the floor a little bit while stretching, and I know that I started to drool at one point when I was trying so hard to lift a weight! But, I didn’t die, and I’m sure I provided loads of laughs to people who may have been watching. Have a great day and I’ll see y’all tomorrow!
Overhead at the gym yesterday…
“Welcome to a metcon” reply: “Fuck you.”
and: “I need to show my body who’s boss.”
The military is getting soft. I can think of one day in particular that they got alot softer. Sept. 18 2009, pretty much been downhill since then, and now we got people like Micheal and Taylor going to ruin my beloved corps. Probably this time next year Slater will have a post that says “Marines… or Girl Scouts??” haha
Slater – i love the “overheard at the gym” posts, except of course when i find myself thinking “did i really say that……yes i did.” Not in reference to today’s posts of course because i have had to move my workout schedule around to avoid your supersensitive hearing capabilities attached to your bionic body. What type of oil do you take Slater? And don’t say fish, because I’m on to you.
Also – Christy you were missed this morning by your early, early am buddies. Glad to here you had a great workout though. i found myself as some point this morning attempting to block out the pain i felt radiating through by moneymaker and legs by listening to the music and had to smile when the thought “wow this is some angry music” popped into my head. i instantly thought of you.
I do take the oil… fish oil, that is… a whopping 20-23 grams a day… that’s 23 pills of 1000mg for you non-math majors… plus a shitload of Vitamin D, C, E, and multivitamins… (shitload is a medical term).
i can corroborate the use of shitload in the medical field, but bolus might be more appropriate haha.
oh and slater, in the battle of me vs my sick body, its really tug-of-war right now. no clear winner just yet.
