What is Derby City CrossFit?
Results! Boom, there it is. A certain type of result, to be more specific: measurable, observable, repeatable results. From the start this was our favorite aspect of CrossFit. This is the part that makes us love coaching you so much. Seeing people healthier, happier, and improve makes it easy to wake up and go to work.
We’re building a fitness-based community, because working out alone sucks. Luckily, we keep attracting awesome members to Derby City CrossFit. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced you will have support. Every day coaches will interact, learn, and talk with all of our members. On top of this, members cheer, support, and share horror stories with each other as well. We proudly highlight member’s accomplishments online, big or small.
Having Fun
This seems like common sense to us but fitness shouldn’t be cold, clinical, quiet, and boring. Life is too short. We like loud, exciting, and memorable. We are continuously hosting events, doing theme workouts and anything else we want to spice it up. We will go to extreme lengths to make our member’s ideas for a good time come true.
What is CrossFit?
Constantly varied, functional movements, executed at high intensity. Huh? One of the great things about CrossFit is all you do is have to show up, get coached during the workout, and the results will come. You don’t have to know anything at all about the behind-the-scenes work that goes into making CrossFit such great a fitness program.
We want to put it out there that anybody can do CrossFit – just to address one of the biggest misconceptions of CrossFit. Our program is scalable to you, no matter how out-of-shape or old you feel. We aren’t filtering to let in only the fit people. We take you and coach you to be fit!
CrossFit is elite fitness for everyone. Our classes and private coaching are based on the CrossFit program originally developed by coach Greg Glassman after his many years of watching, working with, and coaching all types of people – from those merely interested in general fitness to elite athletes.
CrossFit workouts are comprised of constantly varied functional movements (like pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting, running) executed at high intensity. The workouts themselves are completely scalable, which means that a new participant and a CrossFit veteran can complete the same workout with changes in load and intensity. CrossFit workouts will deliver phenomenal fitness in and of themselves or as a compliment to your sport-specific training regime.
